The 39-year-old, best familiar for her role as Maria within the Harold and Kumar comedy films, is already a mother to a 21-year-old girl, Skye Mahoney, from a previous relationship.
But she has been attempting to begin a family together with her director-husband Antonio Hernandez for many years.
The couple had nearly given up hope on having a toddler of its own till Garces learned she had formed throughout a routine doctor's visit.
"We're excited to finally be pregnant once such a big amount of years and build my girl the simplest sis, and my husband a tremendous begetter," a number one web site quoted her as locution.
Garces and Hernandez got married in 2002.
